Shoaib Akhtar (Punjabi, Urdu: شعیب اختر; born 13 August 1975 in Rawalpindi, Punjab) is a Pakistani right arm fast bowler in cricket, who is regarded as one of the fastest bowlers in the world. He set an official world record by achieving the fastest delivery, when he clocked in at 161.3 km/h (100.2 mph) in his bowling speed, twice at a cricket match against England.[1] His ability to bowl fast yorkers and quick bouncers have made him one of the best fast bowlers in cricket.

The all-rounder has been suffering from a sore shoulder but was criticised by Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Nasim Ashraf for not bowling his off-spin during the recent triangular series in Bangladesh.

Pakistan named uncapped spinner Saeed Ajmal in their 15-man squad on Sunday, leading to further doubts over whether Shoaib would bowl in the tournament.

Sana Mir (born 5 January 1986 in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) is captain of the Pakistan women’s team. She was announced Player of the Tournament at the 2008 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, and currently ranks 16th in the Women’s ODI Bowlers in the ICC Player Rankings. She is also the only Pakistani in the top 20. On May 4 2009, Mir was handed the Pakistan captaincy for the Women’s World Twenty20. She had formerly been vice-captain under Urooj Mumtaz. Alongside her cricketing career, Mir is a full time student.
